Default front axle shaft outer seal?

ok, im inthe middle of changing my ball joints,of course the axle shaft is out and what do i see in the axle tube? dirt and lots of it, scrape and vac and repeat. so isnt there an outer seal to keep the dirt out? if so,i dont know what it looks like or who sells it. any better way to clean it out? looks like i managed to get some of it into the splines in the diff. pop the diff. cover off and spray the the tube and everything with brake cleaner?

I don't have this problem because I hate mud

I took the carrier out and cleaned the tubes with a rag and by dragging a big fender washer and a piece of all thread through the axle.

Alloy USA I think? Makes outer seals. I've read where they will get water/ muddy water past them and hold it against the axle seal which will cause it to leak and water get in the diff. I just don't run anything.

Nope, just grease them properly and they work extremely well.

Why not? Just pop it out and spray down the tube

Won't be able to do much with the carrier in the way. Get under the thing with a pry bar and it pops right out. If this computer nerd can do it with an 18" pry bar and a rubber mallet I'm sure anyone can lol.

Just don't push gunk towards the diff. Always from the diff outwards. You do NOT want to take apart the bearings to remove sand.
