Default Found another jeep XJ

I found a 96 4 door 4x4 4.0 XJ 5 speed, this is the first one that i have ever seen a 5 speed in. Is this a rare combo? it has a ton of miles on it but it runs great. i am pretty sure i can get it for 1100 what do you guys think?

I don't know how everyone on here gets their XJ's for like a thousand or less, I paid $2400 for my 95 a couple years ago, 110,000 miles, but zero rust because it's a Houston vehicle.

That price seems about right, there is a '93 4x4 5-speed down the road from me for sale for 1200, paint is shot and it's got 243k miles. I think prices depend on location, I paid as much for my rusted out parts Jeep as some people seem to pay for decent condition XJs ($450).

i am still thinking this one over. It has 250k mikes on it. it only has d35 and a d30. but it would be an awesome candidate for a 4bt swap when it dies.

yeah the floor boards are ok, but both the pass and driver side rocker panels are rusted out by the rear wheels, that shouldn't be too bad of a fix.

How can you make a statement like that? "Dime a dozen"...for five speeds? I don't think so. $800 for rustbucket with 250k on the clock and a blown engine is "a little much". I paid 1500 for a 94 with zero rust and a locker in back with a spare trans and tcase...and what I thought was a blown motor...and STILL think it was a good deal. $1100 for a decent 5 sp with what should be limited corrosion (Oregon) does not sound bad to me. I looked for months and never found a 5 sp in decent enough condition to bother looking at let alone buying. I've said it before and will do so again - everybody knows somebody that found a '57 Stratocaster in Aunt Tilly's closet and got it from her for $25 and there was a $5,000 savings bond in it. They never tell you they had to go through the Stargate to get it though.

My White 96 with the Aisin AX15 5 speed, NP 231, DAna 30 front Chrysler 8 1/4 rear(thats how you can tell if it has ABS from a distance, Chrysler 8 1/4 equiped XJs dont have ABS, late model Dana 35 equiped XJs have ABS) cost me $1800. The condition of this Jeep was excellent, drives like it has between 100,000 and 150,000 miles but actually had 241,000 when i bought it. Had been maintained well with Mobil 1 lubricants, and more importantly to me, was mainly highway driven. The life a Jeep has led makes a huge difference in how much its worth. Miles dont really determine worth to me.

Lol... too funny. I agree could'nt find a five gear to save my life let alone a 2 door. Ended up with the 4dr auto, 220,000 km for $2500 + taxes (cdn) on the upside almost totally rust free!
