I just got an 89 jeep cherokee that was a forest service rig and in the roof there's a wire running to a wierd little plug thing that goes through my roof with a grommet. I assume its a mounting location for cb antennas but i have never seen a mount that would work on it. I know this thread is kinda useless without pictures so ill post some up tommorow. And does anybody know anything that makes a government rig different than a "civilian" rig? Any info is greatly appreciated

 

Yes, they paint them a really ugly green color.

 

Is the shifter in the floor or on the steering column?

 

Its a five speed on the floor

 

I'm sure it was some sort of aftermarket something.

Light bar maybe?

 

Have any console at all ?

 

Its got a center console but nothing over head or anything

 

My guess would be for "police"-type lights.

 

Yeah I never thought of that one... I just assumed it was an antenna cuzz it looks like its about the right place for one
