food color in brake fluid?
is it ok to put a die or food color in my brake fluid at the mster and then bleed the system, just to make absolutely sure im bleeding the entire line?
seems to me that because of its water base you would be introducing moisture into the system... that & because water and oil dont mix, you will pump tons of fluid through before seeing anything... and you would have to put in so much TO see it.. all around its just a bad idea.. sounds to me anyway..
I say put 4 big (break fluid) bottles through the system... one for each corner... that should cover it pretty well.
And BE NICE ******.... the guy has 12 posts!
good luck

When you bleed the system you can attach clear tubing to the bleeder and view the fluid coming out ( also makes it a cleaner job because you can catch the fluid in a bottle and not have it splash everywhere... the new fluid will be much clearer if your old fluid is really bad... and when done right you shouldn't need to use that much fluid... 4 big bottles is a little overkill but I guess one would argue that it couldn't hurt. except maybe the wallet...

Once I get to the bottom of my 2 quart bottle I am assuming that there is fresh fluid all around.
Who needs a bleeder "kit" or hoses. Just let it fly man. Oil-Dri is your friend.
Anywho, you can usually tell when the fresh stuff is cycled to the bleeder.
