I would put them on the front bumper, fog lights are not usually strong enough to light up the road on the roof. JMO...Tj

Right bc i have 4 BAJA lights (i know) and they light up as much as factory headlights needless to say not enough but will get it done when other things are taller than grill... anyway, some run the wires through hatch and through roof rack rails to lights or like i did and drill through one of the first existing screw holes and silicon to prevent leaks... its up to you and your imagination.

Do you need more than one wire? If you have power, couldn't you ground to the body?

One wire ought to sneak through a roof rack mount hole pretty easily. Little dab of silicone and you're GTG.

grounding to the chassis is fine. Every electrical component will be grounded through the frame at some point. Walk around with a multimeter.

i used a piece of 1.5 in square tube i think from Home depot and bent 1/8th in metal into brackets to hold the bar and just ran them under the roof rack pieces on the sides for mounting. Ran the wiring inside the tube and then out to each light with the gromit stuff to clean it up. Up real close you can see the defects but from about 3 feet away and back it looks awesome. Adding a washer inside those pieces between the screw head and runner piece helps because one side pulled through after all the adjustments and the heavy wind.

I have seen others use the factory cross bars but there isnt a way to truely hide the wires. And there are a few Light bars like CARR or jcr has one too.
