I have a 1990 XJ the fluid in the transfer case looks like pepto bismo and the fluid in the tranny looks like over creamed coffe I've drained them, I'm thinking it's because of water in there, will new oil help or is there anything else I can do?

Refill both with the recommended fluids and amounts. Drive for a week and drain and fill the transfer case and tranny again. Drive 1 more week. Drain and fill just the tranny. Might want to replace the filter in the tranny too.

x2.. except don't bother with the filter.... In a AW-4 its just a screen.. no actual element in them.
