flexplate turning direction

Default flexplate turning direction
Is there a proper direction to turn the flexplate when checking the bolts?

Clockwise or counterclockwise only, any other direction will break it

I usually use a 3/4" socket on the crankshaft bolt and turn it clockwise though.
