Just for ****s and giggles, check the bellhousing bolts to be sure they are tight. I bought a Chevy truck that the guy had just put a rebuilt engine in and a week down the road the center of the flexplate cracked out! Loose bellhousing bolts caused a misalignment between the engine and transmission resulting in failure of the flexplate.

Hey guys this post is almost 5 years old...just throwin it out there. Still good info I may check out my own starter related to the flexplate. I solved the crossmember knock but I still sense the flexplate. Anyways yeah old post. Wow dave1123 11,100 posts!!! You are an animal!
