well my flexplate on my 88' must be slightly loose as it makes a not so loud rattling sound under the unibody, it sounds like a rusty heat shield on a cat but I already took that off a month ago. I would like to tighten it before it gets worse. Any tips, pics or advice will be really appreciated for getting to it and tightening it.

This should help you .

I am having the same problem with mine. Well I'm 90% sure and I have mechanics telling me I need a new engine. Should be four bolts that need to be tightened after the inspection plate is off.

thanks a lot man, i mentioned the problem to my friend whose a mechanic and he couldn't hear it 98% of the time and the other 2% was very quiet so he said that I shouldn't worry especially since it's been like that for a long time. He just said that if it does get worse (louder) we'll put it on his lift and check the flexplate's condition. So I'm not going to worry anymore, at least for a while. I must of heard it once and just kept my ear out to keep hearing it, cause me dad never mentioned it to me either when he owned it before me

No problemo .
Mine only acts up on idle and when I start the Jeep up. It's the only time I can hear it. Sounds like rod knock and a diesel truck. I've also been told to just drive it and fix it when I can.
