Flat leaf on new procomp leaf pack?

Default Flat leaf on new procomp leaf pack?

Can somebody explain to me why my pro comp 2.5" lift leaf pack has 3 leafs then a flat one on the bottom?

(i think) its a stabilizer, essentially, to reduce excess play (I think)

It's 100% normal. A lot of leaf spring packs have them actually.. I'd like to know what they are for. Here's a pic of a similiar leaf spring.. http://liftyourxj.com/rearaxle.html

I've got a brand new set of Procomps sitting on the garage floor waiting for the day when I'm done building my wife's horse barn doors... then I get to work on MY stuff.

They look pretty good. Maybe because they are new...but I can't wait to install them.

Mine have the flat leaf, too.

Same thing I said, different words. To reduce spring wrap.

Aren't overload springs the ones that go on top of the leaf packs to limit their flexing capabilities?
