Default flat fender flares

so im always on the forum and the bushwacker add is always popping up on me and the flat tj flares look awesome and i wanna fab some up on my xj has anyone done this or made any kind of a flat fener flare?
could you post pictures and maybe give as much details as you can about what you have done?

lol thats funny cause when i clicked on this thread those bushwacker flares popped up.

Flat fenders or tube fenders seem to be the way to go since bushwacker flares cost so much. I'm sure I could make my own. That will probably be part of my project when I lift my Jeep more. Those fenders look sweet.

the flares are easy but I will post pics when i do the fenders... the only thing is they would look dumb unless you had a lift and huge tires

thanks for all the input guys
i have a 3 inch lift and 33s and i was just wondering if it could be fabbed up i kind of like the tube fender flares look but i wanted some type of like a flat fender flare i think ill have to draw up some pictures and see what ill have to start cutting and welding

Here is my plan: Get bumper and sliders. Bend 1" tubing going from bumper to slider. Weld sheetmetal between tube and fender. I am going to try only leaving the top 3" on so it can still be bolted to jeep. Tubing will have small tabs to bolt to bumper and slider. I am thinking about making them 6" wide, as my 33's stick out quite a bit.
