Thanks-- vortec won't work though, wrong generation motor.
Holly makes a really nice TBI-- when I get a little $$ saved up I'll drop that in (after the d44---after a new rear bumper ... after after after)

I added this to the rear-- should be good for another few horsepower:

I'm not sure why everyone seems to think a standard small block has so much more power than the 4.0?

Great job on the conversion! it looks very well done.

it has a decent amount of power-- definitly an improvement, but so far nothing that's goint to break anything (I hope!!!)

HP increase isn't that much, but tq increase should be pretty significant-- stock, these motors put out about 310 lb-ft tq. but still not nearly enought to really break anything (long as I don't do donuts in the parking lot)

650-- too big. Probably going to try and rejet. Exhaust is VERY rich.

displacement x max rpm = ballpark cfm
3456
re-jet from there its fairly accurate formula. Nice work looks great

Thanks for the advice--haven't figured out how much time I'm going to waste on working with the carb. I've got my eyes on that nice TBI unit from holly...

Pro-Jection? A buddy of mine had this system on his monte carlo, it was awesome compared to when it was carbed, better low end power, better cold starts, pretty good mpgs to boot

How much do you have in the jeep? And how many hours of work to swap the engine?
