Default Finally did it..

Broke and went to a shop, had them check my codes, give me an idea, replaced both o2's in the past week, post cat have warrantee'd twice, cleared codes about 6 times in past week, got a nice burn from removing and hot o2, and the cel is still on. Code p0138. Anyone had this problem? Could this be some bad ground?? Help! Thanks

Sorry, 96 xj sport 4.0 4x4 w/ AC

Computer isn't reading the o2 sensor, on a live scan reader that is, with my deece one it comes up as p0138 aka o2 sensor circuit high voltage. Not sure what to do, it's post cat o2 so it's not affecting anything. I just need the cel off.

Check the wires to the 02's real well. High voltage could be the power to the 02 heater contacting the 02 sensor wire.

I agree with DFlintstone that a shorted wire is the most likely cause for this code and knowing that your sensor itself is not to blame.

Perform a comprehensive check of every inch of that wiring, especially around exhaust.

ive tried, but the wiring is tied into the wiring of a sensor off my t case and is all stuffed on the top side of the tranny. so its hard to get to
