Title says it all. It starts right up every morning no problems ever! Then today I go to start it and it turned over and fired but as soon as it got going it died. Did this repeatedly. I don't know what's going on. My first guess is the fuel pump, but I could hear it kicking on. So I don't know what's going on. Also I know the Cherokees are renown for having some sensor go out, can't remember what those are, could that be it?

I would start by checking the fuel pressure one the fuel rail with a mechanical gauge also check if you are getting a good strong spark. The sensor that you may have heard of are the Crank Shaft Sensor and the Cam Shaft Sensor.

 

Try introducing a small amount of gasoline or a shot of starting fluid into the intake. If the engine starts and runs for a short time, you have confirmed a fuel delivery problem.

 

Ended up being my fuel pump, changed it all out, an she started right up!
