I have a 99 Cherokee Sport, I was wondering if the tail gate from an older model Cherokee say a 91 would fit onto the 99. For some reason I just don't like the rounded look of the new tailgate... I want the boxier old tailgate. I am hopeing it's a direct mount. And while I am in the question would it be possible to make this 99 look like an older cherokee? Are the front clips interchangable? the doors? I like the older Jeep cherokees I just kinda got stuck with a 99 XD

 

This is not at all helpful towards what you're asking in your question but I think I'm safe in saying that it woudn't be too difficult to find someone out there who would trade you their 91 for your 99.

It is a little strange, but I think it's understandable, I like my 99 but I like the older styleing of the earlier jeep Cherokee's... I just like the boxy look the old ones had and I don't like the attempts to round off the appearance of the Cherokee.

 

I know some put the newer steel hatches on the older XJ's when they chop the back, since the old hatches are fiberglass. So I would say that it should fit fine, as far as the rest I'm not really sure but somebody will know.

 

the rear hatchs wouldnt fit, they are different designed, but everything else u could change out

You can swap the front clip from an older xj on to yours
I also like the older Xjs better... the newer 97-01 xjs
look like a female designed them lol
I like the rugged square look.

 

Too bad for the rust, I'll be driving through North Platte in a few months on my way to Fayetteville.

 

Had 92 now 2000 like them both besides it still says cherokee on the side and has the I-6 also we all know what the females drive dont we? as far a jeep lol
