Default Fan won't run

Radiator fan won't run on 2001 Cherokee. Fuse, relay, and fan are all good. When the AC switch is turned on the fan slightly jumps for a second and then no power to the fan. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

Are u referring to the elec rad fan or the blower fan under the dash? I believe '00/'01 XJs, the rad efan only comes on when engine coolant reaches 218F. '99 down XJs the rad efan is triggered by the compressor engaging or engine coolant temp reaching 218F.

Radiator fan. It should start whenever the coolant temp gets too high or whenever the AC is turned on.

I think on '00/'01 it's only triggered by 218F coolant temp. Others have posted that the dealer can re-program the ECU to turn the efan on the same way as '99 down.

Fan will not come on when engine is hot either. It overheats in stop and go traffic. The belt driven fan is not always enough.

wire it to a switch on the dash and flip it on when you start to boil over. eliminates the computer and puts you in charge.

remember you don't drive a jeep, you operate one.

Djb383 is right about 2000-2001 electric fan only coming on at 218 it doesn't come on with the ac . You are wrong about it coming on with the a/c.Something is wrong recheck what you think is ok the only other things are wiring and temp relay, or the brain.
