Default Fan Shroud

Hey guys I've gone through about 3 of the stock plastic shrouds.I'm gonna fab my own out of some sheet metal or aluminum. My question is do i lose any cooling ability by just putting it over the top to protect my fingers. I haven't had any overheating probs but my commute is only ten mins

It affected mine pretty bad. I bought the jeep without one, but I replaced EVERY cooling component on it including the zj jfan clutch upgrade and it still overheated in traffic until I put a shroud on it.

The fan Shroud is a big part of the cooling system and needs to be in place. It is designed to draw the air across the radiator, not around it. Please understand cooling systems.

To the OP, yes, you can make one from metal, but have it cover the same area as the stock one.

That is exactly it's purpose. The fan loses much of it's efficiency without it.
Some may get by without it but they've lost a lot of cooling system capacity.

I didnt want to say about any broken things until OP pipes up again. Rather not have 30 ppl yelling fixes at something that could be OP fault for breaking
