Comedy of errors continues...
Just tried to manually check oil pressure as you all rec'd 3 weekks ago. FAIL. managed to break (?) harness trying to get it off. Little tab part..yeah.. Only connected at one side now. Anywho... Aborted project due to fail in fisconnecting harness. Plan B: Is it supposed to look this dry in there? Started it up and revved it a little... Shouldn't rims of valve look "wetter" than this? Fyi, no horrible noise... It had just been goin to 0 pressure/ check gauges light when hot...mild temps of late have not reproduced effect, but wanted to manually check ( again..EFFING FAIL). Pic is idling and stock gauge reading 40. Just looking for confirmation whether pic is ok or if it should be looking oilier/wetter in the valves.

 

Was the engine just started from cold when you took that picture? If so, it takes several minutes (at idle speed) for oil to get to the rockers.

 

Mine was sporadically going to zero while driving hot. The gauge would come back to life when I pulled over. It was the sending unit.
