factory under spray/ rino line
So me and my dad are in the process of rebuilding my cherokee, and we wanted to try and find the same factory under spray that comes on it stock.
My questions-
My questions-
- Can i buy that stock under spray somewhere?
- How much am i looking at?
- Would rino line be cheaper?
- Anything else...
- Does it need to be on clean metal or can you put it over paint/ primer and it will still stick?

I don't think you will be able to find the exact same undercoating that the factory used. I know mine doesn't carry the same brand stuff...
Most under coating in a spray can is 5-10$ a can at any autozone, wall mart, ect.
Rino liner is pricey, to get a bed of a truck done is about 800$ + depending on size prep ect (was quoted this). So i would say its not cheaper.
I am not expert for rino liner, but i do know there is a prep procedure before spraying it on.
there are lots of undercoat/bedliner options at auto parts stores or wallmart, ect.
I would research under coating ratings and pic one that seams to have good-great feedback. I have "heard" good things about douplicolor updercoating. but haven't used it myself... http://www.google.com/search?sourcei...w=1311&bih=564

The closest thing you can get to factory is 3m body schutz. It is expensive to get the applicator and materials, so I would look into the bed liner system if you want to go that way.

I have use the duocolor on the under the under side of the gas tank and it sticks pretty good, I didn't do any prep work really, just knocked off the loose crap. Now it you did the the bedliner stuff it more prep work and it better that you get down to the metal with a good abrasive pad so it sticks, then clean it down with either xlycol or a thinner to get any trace of grease or oil. Take your time doin it too the last you wanna do is rush it I know from exp. I have the interior line in my and my girlfriends and so far it does pretty good I run some rubber floor mats to keep it a little cleaner. It handles the scraches pretty good and anything else I have thrown in the cargo hasn't pealed yet and if does you get a can of it and spray it on and good like new.
