Default Factory t-case skid??

Anyone ever used the factory t-case skid plate? I got one today free just gotta bolt it up and haven't a clue where it goes just yet..Anyways just curious as to how durable they are?

yeah i got the factory on mine. it works ok for everything i have done but its not a ton of protection. if i get a chance tomarow i will snap a pic for ya.

Should be fine for mild wheeling. He!!, I don't call what I do mild, and I do not have a t-case skid!! You'll be fine!! Bash it!! What's the worst that can happen...wait don't answer that!!

I just gotta figure out how it mounts up...and get the proper bolts and so forth..

sorry man i woke up late and had to come in to work right away and now its dark. it sits diagonal from the xmember to the unibody rail on mine i dont have any picks for you though i apologize again.

No sweat bud.. just when ever you can snap a shot I would be very thankful.. that way I can see how it fits and try to replicate that on mine..This came off an 89 or 90 model and mines a 91 both with a 242 t-case so it should fit..

i got the 231 in mine and its an 88 i dont know if there is a diff between 231 mounts and a 242 but i will get a shot tomorow.

Eh shouldn't matter or at least it will give me something to go off of...thanks for taking some snap shots it should help a ton..

This isn't the factory skid plate but very similar. The factory skid plate bolts up pretty much like this:

I got mine sitting still on the table cause my frame didnt have nut serts for it. I see you just dropped the bolts down the X-member for the middle, but did yours have nut serts on the d-side.

When i did my aftermarket skid, i didn't have them either. I used self-tapping bolts and it worked out well.

On the crossmember side, I just used nuts/bolts. On the frame side, I drilled and tapped a hole for a 3/8 bolt.
