Yeah post up some pics when you install yours OKC. I have a 242 also but the skid I have needs to be altered as it is for a 231. I have no nuts in the frame rail either but can fish one into the hollow rail. But I doubt I have clearance to the bottom corner of the 242 without some alteration.

Is your for a 242 or are you going to have to mod a 231 skid to work?

Nah mine is a 242 and the 89 or 90 XJ it came from was a 242..So no modding needed as far as I can see..looks like it will bolt right up just have to drill and tap and such...

The skid plate works for both the 231 and 242. The design of the skid plate did not change. I have it on mine now with a 242.

I may hold off until I put the lift on to make sure I don't need a tc-drop till I can do an SYE...Don't want to get the thing all bolted up and then find out that I can't run it if I have to use a tc drop temporarily...

You can still run it with a t-case drop. You just have to bend it down some or drop the frame side the same amount as you drop the t-case using LARGE nuts or washers as spacers.
