Default Tire carrier

We took it into a fabricator shop and he said the only way for it to work would be to do a bunch of strengthening where it would mount on the body and bumper. Too costly. So we sold it to someone who thought they were gonna make it work. Hope this helps!

Has anyone tried to install these older swing tire carriers on a 2000 or similar model XJ?

Any help or info would be greatly appreciated.
if you ever come across another one or know someone that has one let me know

I have made 12 trips to the JY looking for XJ parts. I have never seen one. Good hunting.

Default This is what I had planned

This is what I had planned to do with my 2000 XJ with a 6.5” lift and 33’s. Can you give me any details of your design? I have access to the metal and welder as well as the ability to do the work myself. I just need some tips on the design.

This is a fairly old thread and I'm not sure if you'll get a response... But I've just built one for my rig...Works perfectly... Check out my build thread for the details...
