Factory security system....
Ok I found my little factory security system box under the dash...Has a big plug with wires plugged in to it..My question is this, how do I disable it properly? I have read start the jeep and unplug it with the jeep running and let it run a bit to relearn things..So I am curious if anyone has done this or knows anything about it? Oh and this is on a 91 XJ...

Why do you want to disable the alarm? If I may ask.

bluexj nope didn't come with one...If I could get one I'd keep it for the keyless entry alone...Not sure you can even buy them anymore..

Well at the dealership it's about $100 for one..I could have a newer model installed for that and get 2 remotes with lithium batteries..

Well there is a local place that sells new, used and aftermarket jeep parts going to call them first and see if they have any used in stock that I can program for my jeep. We'll see what happens..I may get one at some point but for now I just don't have the cash..

Yep they are easy as pie to steal but since I can't completely disarm it or remove it from the system I have to either get a remote or deal with it..Heck keyless entry would be nice..the alarm part can go but the keyless entry is nice..
Searched ebay and the internet and so far I can't seem to find any keyless fob's for anything older then 93....
