Factory fog light switch wiring
Divide wattage by the applied voltage to find the amperage.
55 watts / 13 volts = 4.2 amps. Two bulbs would pull 8.4 amps. The factory fuse IIRC is 15 amps so you should be fine.
100W bulbs would be another story.

I have 55w PIAA's and they for some reason didn't make friends with the factory wiring, I've heard that 55w lights should be fine but that wasn't the case with me

Does anyone know the wiring of the older model switch? there are 3 wires, green with a dark green strip, green, and black (in that order from bottom to top). I need to know which is the power, ground, and fuse wire
Black is always ground.
Turn your low beam headlights on, and fog lamps off, and probe the green and green/tracer wires with a voltmeter.
One should have power with the fog switch off (that's the incoming power feed).
The other should only have voltage with the switch on (power out to relay)
Found it. It was in the Instrument Panel drawing, lol.
Green/trace - to fog light relay
Green - from low beam headlight circuit
Black - ground
So the green wire brings power into the switch, and the green/trace wire sends power to the relay when the switch is operated. Black wire provides ground for the indicator light.
