Default Which exhaust Valve do I need???

trying to find a replacement exhaust valve and I'm completely confused on which part # I need. It's a 98 4.0l It currently has 3 groove valves. Most searches lead me to single groove.

Quadratec shows me needing Crown Automotive part# 53010513AA (98-06 jeep vehicles w/4.0 jeep vehicles) but Crown Automotive says this part# is for Jeep Cherokee (XJ) (2000-2001) w/ 4.0L engine.

If I go to Napa's site they show me sealed power V4554 which is a single groove and that this fits 97-98 Cherokee but a search with 99 results in a V4636 which is a 3 groove. It has a different face angle and stem diameter

Did someone swap out the engine/head with one from a 00-01?

What is the casting number on your head?

That's a good question. I assumed they were 0630 but after some digging, if this is correct http://www.enginebuildermag.com/2004...ylinder-heads/ they must be 99 or newer (0331) heads because the center exhaust ports are not combined like they are said to be on the 0630's. That still leaves me in question about the Crown auto valves but I was really hoping to find something from one of the local suppliers for this weekend.

Ughh, I hope my new ATP header that came in yesterday will still work.

So not only do you have valve concerns, but now you get to worry about the casting defect with the 0331 as well.

Did you try looking for 00 year valves at the local retailers?

So I'm back to not having a clue once I had it in front of me. Clearly a 0630 casting w/separate center exhaust ports.

Could a P.O. have simply put the wrong valves in?

My 98 had a 0630 head with 1-groove valves. It cracked in the common 0630 location (between #1 exhaust and intake valves) so I grabbed a junkyard head.

The J/Y head was from a 99 Sport, 0630 head, and the valves were 3-groove. It appears the later 0630 heads went to 3-groove even before introduction of the 0331 head.

wondered if that may be the case

I put a mic on the stem and measured 7.9 mm so I went with the 513AA valve
