Which exhaust Valve do I need???
trying to find a replacement exhaust valve and I'm completely confused on which part # I need. It's a 98 4.0l It currently has 3 groove valves. Most searches lead me to single groove.
Quadratec shows me needing Crown Automotive part# 53010513AA (98-06 jeep vehicles w/4.0 jeep vehicles) but Crown Automotive says this part# is for Jeep Cherokee (XJ) (2000-2001) w/ 4.0L engine.
If I go to Napa's site they show me sealed power V4554 which is a single groove and that this fits 97-98 Cherokee but a search with 99 results in a V4636 which is a 3 groove. It has a different face angle and stem diameter

So not only do you have valve concerns, but now you get to worry about the casting defect with the 0331 as well.
Did you try looking for 00 year valves at the local retailers?

My 98 had a 0630 head with 1-groove valves. It cracked in the common 0630 location (between #1 exhaust and intake valves) so I grabbed a junkyard head.
The J/Y head was from a 99 Sport, 0630 head, and the valves were 3-groove. It appears the later 0630 heads went to 3-groove even before introduction of the 0331 head.

I put a mic on the stem and measured 7.9 mm so I went with the 513AA valve
