I did some research on exhaust for my jeep but didn't get far, I found out my wife wanted a divorce so my plans for my jeep then stopped, any way that is a whole different story but I was told if you take you cat out or significantly change the flow too drasticly it will confuse the computer and your fuel milage will go down the toilet and your performance could go the opposite way, but you are doing things in the right order so you don't find out for your self if you make a bad decission... I hope this helps....

The APN exhaust manifold, looks like a good one aside from all the problems other people are having with the torque wrench or any wrench for that matter on some of the bolts. im also picking up the magnaflow cat at a real good price. thanks guys for the tips about the law and my exhaust.

does anyone know if the APN header's pipes line up with the exhaust ports on the 97' I6 block. I have read that the problem with the OE manifold is that its ports don't line up right.

I run a stock 91 4.0 HO tubular exhaust manifild/header...looks more like a header to me. Anyway, I have 2.5" straight pipe to a Flowmaster Super 40 and then 2.5" pips out the right rear corner. This has been a good set up for me. The Jeep woke up BIGTIME and it was getting 20 MPG in the highway. It makes a little noise but, I like the way it sounds. It's even fine at highway speed.
