Default Exhaust suggestions

Hey guys, I am thinking about putting a new exhaust on my Cherokee. I want something with a louder sound, but not too loud. My Jeep is bone stock all the way around. I want to do a cat back, but I really don't want to spend the money for a cat back system. I'm open for suggestions on what kind of muffler to get and how to mount it up. Thanks!

I've found, that no matter what you do short of a straight pipe, your Jeep will always sound like... a Jeep.

Magnaflow. No baffles, no chambers, just straight-thru stainless.

Keep in mind, the longer/wider the muff case, the quieter (all else being equal).

How loud is the Flowmaster 40/Thrush if you retain the cat? Do they drone a lot on a 4.0L? I like the tone of the Flowmaster but I don't want anything so loud it's obnoxious or a lot of drone at highway speeds. I've been looking at a lot of YouTube videos but it's so hard to tell how loud something actually is in real life since everyone's video camera records differently.

Go with the borla cat back, sounds nice and deep. I love mine, its perfect. Not loud, but has that nice deep purr everyone seems to want.
