the hubs are a complete sealed unit.

to replace you need a 36 mm 12 point socket.

My drone comes in early at 60 plus. I thought bearing s also but when I decelerate there is some vibration and there is vibes at 70. I am wondering if front drive shaft. When I recently bought this jeep the front slip yoke was dry and there was a lot of slop in it. After lubing still has slop.

yeah the bearing comes as a complete unit which i am not very of but i can live with. Just cross your fingers it comes out in one piece. i bought an end for my air hammer off the mac truck that fits over the bolt head and it works great. Wish i would have had it when i did mine it would have saved me from taking the knuckle off.

I would bet on it being wheel bearings. It was common for the wheel bearings in these things to need to be replaced and they aren't terribly hard to replace, just a little costly. Depending on how bad your wheel bearings are (If it is in fact your wheel bearings) It's also possible that you can gain some fuel mileage out of replacing them. A bad bearing creates a surprising amount of drag, which would effect fuel mileage. (The engine has to push harder to get it to go than with a good bearing, therefore using more fuel.)

Hope this helps..

Ok, i ended up picking up a timken wheel hub, i want to replace both sides but my AutoZone only had one of the timkens in stock so following suggestions on this thread i was checking the drive shafts ect.

one thing i wanted to run past you guys, my drive shaft it self has some play in it right in the area where the drive shaft slips, i can get a video if need be, is this normal? if not can i rebuild it or do i have to buy a new one?

sorry for my poor description if you cant understand what i am talking about let me know and i will try to grab a video or picture.

Quick update to this thread. I removed my front drive shaft and that resolved my noise. So now i will be shopping for a driveshaft. The part where my drive shaft slips has a ton of play in it and i believe that was causing my vibes at higher speeds. Since this jeep is my DD and i dont really off road with it much i think i am just going to go with a dennys driveshaft because its a little cheaper than tom woods. Any suggestions?

I removed my front driveshaft as well since I busted the cv joint wheelin. That got rid of my vibration but the drone is still there.

An addition to the description of a bad wheel bearing should also include a rythmic droning at the same point as the wheel turns or more pressure is applied to the bearing(i.e. going around a curve as the vehicle leans to the bad side)

Mine is really getting worse quick cuz now when I coast down the street @5mph(delivering pizzas! not stalking people) I can hear and FEEL the grind when it comes around.
