Default Engon swap help!

I've got a 93 xj 4.0 I6 with a blown motor. I also have an 88 xj 4.0 I6 which runs good. Would the motor out of the 88 bolt up and connect without any problems in the 93? Are the sensors, plugs, hoses, ect gonna be in the same locations? Or is there gonna be trouble? Thanks guys

I think there would be some problems. Unless I am mistaken the 88 has the 4.2 carbureted and the 93 has the 4.0 fuel injected engine. At best I would expect you would have some wiring changes

My 88 has the 4.0 EFI. It's gonna be a headache to swap that motor into the 93. Intake is diff, computer is too. best bet is to find a 91-95 I believe. I could be wrong, please correct me if I am.

Use the running motor as a long block and change everything over. this way all your plugs hook back up. mark everything you unhook very well.
