Engine tick
Well i have been told that most I6's have a constant tick but listening to my other truck(also a I6) compared to my xj something doesn't seem right. the PO said it has always had this sounds. Maybe its just me, but for my peace of mind i'm going to ask if this sounds normal.

it is lifters but a lot louder than I would want to here, does it go away when it warms up? after listening to again is it possible you have an exhaust leak.

noise
Hard to tell... sounds to me like the top end is a little dry (lacking oil) . do you have an exhaust manifold leak as well? Maybe others will have a listen and give their opinion......

I just fixed an exhaust leak. i don't notice the sound as much after a little driving. I don't know if its just me or the vehicle. i'll try and post a warmed up version of the video later

if the noise goes away after it is warmed up,it is not as big of a deal,if they sound this loud all the time I would at least think about changing the lifters at some point. If the noise goes away after warmed up,then it is just the lifters bleeding down after setting for awhile or overnight and it takes a bit to pump up.
