Default Engine tempature 87 4.0

Hey guys so on my 1987 Jeep cheorkee 4.0 the engine temp reaches this mark and stays there and doesn’t move at all this past Thursday my local mechanic replaced the thermostat and the t-sat I bought was a 195 mopar one so what’s the issue I have also replaced the tempature sender I might add that the heat is fairly hot probally could be hotter but I’m just kinda annoyed right now

The replacement temp senders are notoriously inaccurate.
But, you're saying the heat isn't that hot either?
You or a buddy have an infra-red laser you could point at the thermostat housing to verify the temp? I'm sure the mechanic would have one. Takes 2 seconds to verify the temp.

I'd try the infra-red first.

Just to be sure, you mean the temp sensor on the back of the head, not the one on the side of the block?
