Default Engine stumbles when drivers side door is opened?

just got my jeep running (cps, melted 02 sensor wiring) but now i have another issue. every 3-5 minutes the engine will randomly act like its gonna die and stumble for a second, then resume running fine. most of the time i can get it to do this by opening the drivers side door? really weird...
any ideas?

you must have a hot wire grounding.

That's a tough one. Leave the door closed? Just kidding... maybe start measuring for a grounded wire in your door switch? With a multimeter of course.

sorry to bump this dead thread up, but this started giving me more trouble.

Does anyone have a wiring diagram of where all the ground wires are located? I found the ones on the engine, but i need to work my way from the firewall back.

Thanks!

I think you need to look for a power wire that is grounding out.

Check inside the rubber door boot - it is a mess in there.

sounds obviously stupid, but this all started around the time my friend stuck a 556 shell in the cigarette lighter hole. it immediately killed my turn signals and radio, both of which still do not work. all the fuses are good too. I did not notice the engine issues right off, so it must be getting progressively worse somehow...

That moron shorted out a wire somewhere. Electrical gremlins are a real pain to track down.

just wondering, was there a particular reason that your friend did that?
