Default Engine skip, cut out

I've noticed that here in the last week or so that my jeep will just kind of cut out or...well i really dont know what to call it. its like it looses gas for a split second. what is this? thought it might be the plugs but they were replaced a few months back. what could it be? This is on a 4 banger 5 speed

Hi, it may be your CPS (crank position sensor) it will act like your losing gas/spark then start up again like nothings wrong...Tj

You could have a cylinder misfire.

could it be my plug wires? im not sure if they were replaced, but i know the plugs were. the cut out is only for a split second. not even a whole second, never any longer.

If it was a bad plug/wire it would not cut out, it would just "stumble/miss"...Tj

ok, it is a cut out, i went for a drive to dry my jeep after i got done cleaning it. After about 15 min of driving, i pulled in a random driveway, pulled the E-Brake and got out to look and see how dry she was. Next thing i know, she just cuts off. I guess the reason the engine didnt just cut off on me while i was driving was because as soon as it cut off it started right back up because it was in gear.

So my question is.... how much is this gonna cost me?
