Default Engine runs, then loses pressure

Hey guys my 4.0 is running... Alright at about 20psi and after about 30minutes driving it loses pressure to about 10psi and starts pumping oil out of the dipstick.
It also has a tapping that sounds pretty nasty... Some of the lifters aren't pumping properly.
If you have any advice for these issues please share, I'm about to buy another xj/mj and cut my losses here .

Replce the CCV elbow and make sure the nipple on the intake where the hose from the CCV goes is clear. That may help with the oil being pumped out of the dipstick. How much oil is showing on the dipstick?

It before was filled to 7.25qt... Accidentally. Now it's perfect, hairline below full mark...
Both elbows are brand new, BUT, they are identical pieces from orielly auto, I think they may be check valve style... One is supposed to blow in and the other out, correct? I'll pull them right now and make sure they aren't checks.

I'm thinking the oil pump is dying aswell, what about you?

They both blow both ways, but the bottom of the elbow has a restricted hole, downsized a LOT.

For comparison, the upper end of elbow is about 3/8-1/2 id, as stock, but the lower end is about the size of a pencil lead... I forgot what the stock resembled

Well, I checked out some jy xj's, and the front elbow is absolutely not a reduction, as the rear is.
I'd assume this restriction would make it spit up oil once it was up to temp?

That solves a huge issue, I believe. Now I just needy the tapping resolved, I believe the pump is dying, it loses pressure once it heats up, and is not pumping to all of the lifters ( 2 sets are not getting as much ) others will shoot 5+ ft in the air.
Confirmation on that would be great!

Not sure what the I6 has in both positions but my I4 has a CCV in the front and just an open tube in the back. The CCV should only flow one direction I would think, otherwise why would it be a valve? But one end has to flow out while the other flows in, that lets the crankcase breathe.

From what I saw the 4.0 has open in front, leading to air box, and ccv In back headed to intake manifold

There is no valve in the CCV system in the sense that the PCV system has a valve. "CCV" describes a crankcase ventilation system, not a component in that system.

OP have you checked the manifold fitting as suggested by Bustedback? This is very simple but critical. Just stick a stiff wire or similar in the nipple to dislodge any carbon buildup.
