Plug wires are fine, nearly brand new, along with the plugs. Injectors are still doing their job. Just now compression. My guess is a stuck valve or bad orings. Not sure exactly on all aspects.

One cylinder is usually a sticky valve/valve not seating unless you have physical damage from something getting in there. Hopefully not too bad.

Hoping that too. The less $$$, the better.

Thing is rings usually don't just go in one cylinder like that. Please post progress :-) btw you can hook a vacuum guage up to get a better idea of the problem

The description doesn't indicate "random" misfire to me, but a consistent misfire.

Sometimes you have to determine what isn't causing something to narrow down what it is.....

Yes but can a worn distributor shaft cause a random misfire?

Compression test yet? Pull the valve cover and look at the pushrods and rockers?

Never seen a figure on acceptable runout. Shouldn't be able to feel it when wiggling the shaft side to side though. I'm always curious as to how the distributor gear is worn compared to the teeth on the cam.

Already at the family mechanic. Got too frustrated with it.

Try swapping the #6 injector to a different cylinder and see if the problem follows that injector. If it does, you've found your misfire problem.

That still won't address the compression issue though. Have you tried putting some Seafoam in the oil? Maybe a sticky valve stem or lifter?

We swapped plugs and injectors before we sent her off to the sho.
Seafoamed every 6000 miles.

Worth a shot anyway.

BTW: Did you put the seafoam in the engine oil or the gas tank?
