i have a small issue where after the truck is warm and been running for a while weither i shut it off or it sits there and idles , it seems like the engine is loading up on to much fuel , it will pop out the intake and hesitate untill i rip on it and clear it out ,and yesterday after shutting it off after running it for a couple hours it didnt even wanna start at first, it doesnt do it all the time only after its been running for quite a while , my first thought is bad injectors and is dripping fuel into the engine thats not getting burned or a fuel pump issue , its got brand new plugs , wires cap and rotor and even a new distributer , i know im not the only one with this problem i just need to fix it lol o yea its a 97 with the 4.0

 

It sounds like you either have an issue with your iac/stepper motor or a vacuum leak,that is where i would begin.

 

i replaced the tps before too ,but i read if its a vaccum leak or iac goes bad the engine will idle high , my engine runs great except when it does that and even when its doing it it idles fine just when you hit the gas it pops ,

 

It sounds like it is loading up and a vacuum leak or iac will cause the idle to raise but it may just be a minor leak. Tps can cause it to,I say that because it also sounds like timing which the tps controls that also.
What have you checked so far?

 

well im trying to find somewhere to start considerd almost everything else is brand new , the tps is only a month old and it didnt change anything when i replaced it

 

So you changed the tps,did you change the iac?you can take it off and clean it,may help. That would be a good place to start.

 

I had a high Idle problem and I did take it out and clean it and it did help. It is not completely fixed but It helped. Mine is missing when cold but runs fine when warmed up lol. For now I am just letting it warm up for about 10 minutes before I drive. Hope you can get it worked out!

 

mine idles fine tho and when its cold its fine , starts right up and goes , its after its been running for a while is when it acts up
