The cold air at idle may be either low coolant or clogged heater core which doesn’t allow the coolant to flow through it as well at lower rpm.
And i can attest to the fact that some aftermarket thermostats will not let the engine warm up as quickly. I put one from NAPA in and it takes much longer now to get above 200. Unless I’m driving for a bit at a higher rpm. Mostly on cool or cold days.

I'm having a similar problem but my temp (at least the dash gauge) seems to be fine as it's around 200. My issue is it seems to take longer than it once did to heat up and once it does it's okay but if I stop at an intersection and have to sit for awhile it starts blowing cool air. Once I start moving again it begins to blow warm air.
We are certainly sorry to her about your recent concern. I kindly suggest visiting your local Jeep dealer if this concern persists, as they are in the best position to provide assistance. If you are in need of any additional assistance during this process, we are available via private message.

Figured I would report back. Swapped the thermostat (again for the third time
) but made sure to spend the extra and get the best one NAPA had, and also tested it prior to install; I also back flushed the heater core, which was nasty as he!!, and seems to be reaching temp correctly and pushing more heat out. I will probably flush the heater core one more time after running it for a few, but so far seems to be working well.

I took off the thermostat housing just in case it would have been in my way.
Not really sure if it would have been or not.
Anyway I bought a new Stant Superstat but was hesitant to use it. The whole bad out of the box thing.
Well decided not to and threw back in the Napa one.
So far so good.
Go figure. LOL.
