So r u doing a total rebuild? Or scrap?

 

I'm going to rebuild it. Bore it over if I could find a 4.2 crank I will build a 4.7 stroker..

I would have liked it to. But I'm picking up an engine and a trans with 100k on it in the morning for 800.

 

And what will be done to the "new" engine?

 

Hmmm. Can't really tell from the picture. Are you sure that block is toast? You really can't tell by eye unless it's a lot worse than I'm seeing. Has a competent machine shop signed a death certificate?

 

I work on things for a living it's toast. I'm not wasting my money on machine work. The new engine I'm picking up is from a 98 I'm going to swap a few things from the 01 to the 98 and put the engine trans back in.

 

Well I found a 00 on CL. I picked it up for 800 just needs the new engine installed. Has a 4.5 lift kit and a rear disk brake conversion. I'm going to use my old jeep for parts...

 

Could be in worse shape than what you have now.
