Just a caviot ....wetting the radiator it's self will aid cooling as the water evaporates off the fins. Not so practical...but I have heard of guys installing a "mister", to aid cooling. Depression days? Idk. Anyway you can always wet the radiator with a hose (when you got one), to aid cooling.

(Change of state. Liquid turning to vapor absorbs heat)

That's also how your AC and your frig works.

98 cool temp sensor decreases resistance while warming up. That means, shorting connector will keep fan running, but the same sensor provides data for fuel delivery, engine will not run well.
Removing fan relay and installing jumper would be better solution.

My older Jeep (90), uses a separate coolant temp sensor for the fan.

And to think I put in over $230 of maintenance before I took this trip to prevent such a thing lol... I'll probably be changing the oil next weekend I guess. Am I going to need to change the filter again as well? I just changed it all before I took this 1400mi trip.
