Emergency brake
I removed my center console to put the heater tube vent thingy back in because I forgot to put it back on when I removed my carpet.
I broke the ball end on the emergency brake line because I pulled it too far high in order to clear the slot on center console.
I tried to look at pepboy and auto advanced or replacement cable. Apparently they don't sell it at all. So I went on google and saw that quadretec sells e-cables in different lengths for different lift height.
I m wondering if different heights really require different e-cable lengths? Or is that just thier marketing gimmick?
If u have any part number that I can go check on parts store, that would be great. Inspection is due and I need to fix the issue.

I have an E-brake question - hopefully someone here can help!
I'm trying to remove the Console off my 1988 Cherokee, but I can't get the E-brake handle pulled up high enough to allow the Console's Center Panel to slide off of it. Any suggestions?
Thanks!

Yes, I can help.
- It's not an emergency brake. It is a parking brake. It is intended for parking, but it can be used in an emergency.
- For your other problem, read this and this.

he means you should create your own thread instead of hiijacking one that is 3+ years old. i guessed you searched the forum or google to find the thread, so that's a good start, but a general rule is not to bump old threads

Thanks, Cane, for the interpretation of BlueRidgeMark's note. Glad you speak his language :-) (I wonder why he didn't just go with plain English for all of his answer)
As for creating my own thread, I've always seen over many years of forum participation that communities prefer people to NOT start a new thread if one already exists on a topic. I found a forum thread that has a schematic of parking brake in one of the posts, so I asked a question related to the functioning of the parking brake. Are you saying that if the thread was younger than 3+ years old, it would've been fine to post on it? Personally (and this goes for people I know), I'd rather see less threads on the same topic than, have to locate various threads throughout a forum or the internet.
By the way, what does it mean to bump old threads?
