The fans, from what I can gather, only have a 30 day warranty, which is frightening considering the earlier posts about the "China specials" that are cheap and have well over 1000 cfm, but this fan actually does have a brand name on it, so that makes me feel a little more secure in this aspect: If you sold products that you made with your own company name on them, you would want them to be good, quality parts so that they will attract more customers. However, if you sold nameless, cheap products made by some unknown factory in another country, you wouldn't give a rat's about the quality.
Still, I would like to know the cfm of the stock electric fan, both the older and newer types if ANYONE at all knows.

Why dont you use the taurus fan? Its cheap, like $30 from the junk yard or $60 new on ebay and its made by ford. It pulls a ton of air and is quite. It is larger than the rad but graft the stock fan shroud to the bottom side and all the air it pulls comes thru the rad.

Long answer: I don't have a fan shroud on either of my 4.0 Jeeps, and I don't want a huge fan on a tiny radiator. I want it to look decent when I'm finished.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe clearing out the fins for more airflow will make you run cooler.
I was going to use a new radiator when I do the swap, but there's nothing wrong with my current one.

I will be ordering a 2 row CSF rad but still not sure what fans to run. FF Dynamics is probably going to get my money on that one. Im only going to buy the fans from them. I will wire up my own controller for the fans.

I didn't know you could just buy the fans until I went back to their site and checked again. Hmmm... that's a good deal too. Better cfm than the Proform AND these have a lifetime warranty and not just a 30 day warranty, although they're more expensive.Originally Posted by trs80

why? I spent maybe 60 bucks on the setup works great. Others setups are much more expensive and probably less reliable.

Ya i dont know why everyone is worried about a "hack job." yes there are two small aluminum tabs below mine, but that is it. How many times has someone crawle under my jeep and looked up to the radiator...3...2...1... NEVER.
The taurus fan flows awesome! Nothing flows more for less money, and they're pretty much indestructible. The top side of mine looks pretty nice.
In anycase, the previous write up ive seen dont have the proper belt size for newer XJ's, so if someone want the proper belt size I can post it. This would be the belt for REMOVING the old clutch fan pulley.
One last thing to consider no matter what way you go, is that you need to have the proper relays to pull the high amps that a electric fan of that size will pull. A nice new polished electric fan is useless if it doesnt run!

Not everyone wants to just make it work with parts lying around.
I would prefer the clean look of three 10" fans that I can run two separate controllers for. One would be setup like the stock E-Fan, to come on with temp and AC/Defrost. The other two on a variable speed controller. So they can run anywhere from 50 to 100% power. In a sense its the same as a single Taurus fan but comes down to a matter of personal taste. Anyone can do it for cheap only a few try and do it to look factory.
