Id like to say thanks to all of those who are trying to help! I really appreciate it. Ok this is where im at now with this demon. No luck with beating the dash! Ive pulled out the aftermarket alarm just incase it had something to do with it but no luck there. Ive pulled the dash cluster out to check for bad connection and corrosion none were present. Now that I have the all of the dash panel pulled out Im going to start from the battery and work my way back as advised by CCken. I did manage to make some headway though. I got my gauges back and figured out that if I don't use my push button dome light or headlights, all of my gauges work. Now if I turn one of them on I lose my gauges check engine light comes on along with airbag light and my rear wiper comes on. Also my door locks still don't work but has no effect on the gauges and they still turn on my rear wiper.

if your rear wiper was turning on when you turned other things on, then it sounds to me like a short to power somewhere, i'd look for damaged/exposed wires.

Do gauges come back and defroster light/no bus/rear wipers stop when you hold the door lock button to the right? I am having this exact issue with the same P1694/98 codes being thrown and was wondering if you had found a resolution. I had read in some other posts about this issue that an aftermarket radio was causing it, and when I disconnected the radio the issue was still occurring. I also cleaned the connectors to the dash to no avail. I'm thinking that the switch might be the issue, and am going to replace it soon to see if that fixes it.

Also, many apologies for being roughly 9 years late lol. Thank you very much and hope to hear from you soon, C
