Electrical Burn Smell
Ok, Replaced my blower motor in the Fall due to squeeling when running at high speed. There was also the smell of burnt electrical odor along with the squeal. Seen a few posts about blower switches going bad (burnt contacts) due to rivets. My new motor works fine in low to 3/4 speed, but when I run it in High, I pick up the smell of something electrical again. Turning the speed down to say 3/4 or 3 click position the smell goes away and the motor works fine. Any thoughts??

As you smell it in the cab, my guess is that it is the blower speed control switch. With higher juice running through it at the high speed, it is slowly doing more electrical damage to that switch.

Its the actual switch you control high/low with. The plug melts and causes all kinds of problems like that. Check all the plugs on the back of the a/c controller 2 of mine were melted. Replaced them both and a/c works perfectly on all levels XD

Maybe after a few brews the offer may look good.

Pull the covers off of the steering column around the ignition switch, take a look at the wire that is pink/black tracer and see if the terminal is cooked. There is a repair harness available from the dealer, and you may want to replace the ignition switch too if it's burnt.
