egr valv??

how do you bypass the egr valve?

plug the vac line and make a plate to cover where it conects to the intake manifold.

kk cuz mine wont pass smog and the guy siad it was the egr valve so im thinking of just getting rid of it

you cant you need it to pass if you have smog test every thing must be in place and work properly

you need to replace it

CRAPP! i just wanna get rid of all the vac. lines they are starting to bug me, i was looking and(i got a 4 banger) the one fir the six is cheaper than the one for mine =[

Not likely that the EGR is making you fail emissions... a properly-operating EGR system actually makes your exhaust cleaner. You should fix the system.

Your PCM's fuel mix and timing strategy are also based on having a working EGR to cool the cylinder temps.

Note: The information I am about to provide is not for sale in California for on-road vehicles... off-road use only


If it just needs to look like it works, take the vacuum line off and put a BB in the end where it connects to the EGR solenoid (the opposite end of the vacuum line that hooks to the valve). Next, remove the EGR valve and make a sheetmetal plate to put under the EGR gasket. Trim the plate so it is invisible and put the valve and gasket back on.
