What sensor would limit my xj power and or speed? I have an 89 mostly stock xj. If i heterosexual in it in the morning and try to drive to work without warming it up it will not get to 70 mph. If i let it warm up for 10 or 15 min it will run as fast as i want all the way to work. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Check your header for cracks could be giving your upstream o2 sensor a false reading with air in the mix and robbing you of power. If it's cracked you can smell exhaust and it's rather loud. Felt really bogged down after start up I replaced mine with an APN after market header the power was back.

Sorry about the heterosexual part of that. My phone just loves to are me look like an *** with its auto correct. First of all how would you go about adjusting the tps? Then i checked the header and it seems to be fine. I don't smell exhaust and don't feel any escaping exhaust. It does not have a cat just the header, down pipe, muffler and a turn down. When i got it there was no down pipe or cat or muffler. Just pretty much an open header. I changed the o2 sensor awhile back when it started this and nothing changed.

Put a cat on it. Mine came from the PO without a cat and had less power and loaded up when accelerating than when I put a high flow cat on it. Not to mention it's a violation of federal law.

So.i found the problem today with the help of a pressure washer. I was washing my motor and every time i crossed the back side of the intake the motor would bogg and die. So i got out the carb cleaner and found the leaky intake gasket.
