This is why I didn't do it all at once. I just replaced a couple bulbs every two weeks or so. A few months after starting... voilą, no more incandescent bulbs. Also, I'm sure it can be done for much cheaper I just don't trust those [auction site] bargain bulbs to be as bright, reliable, or easy to return if they don't work.

I love statistics, if you don't... stop reading now. Under normal circumstances there are 11 marker bulbs illuminated with a continuous draw of 69.5 watts using conventional bulbs. LEDs reduce that draw by nearly 60 watts to just 11. I can't think of a reason for ever doing this but if you happened to be in reverse with your foot on the brakes and your hazard lights on you would be pulling 290/182 watts (intermittently) with conventional bulbs compared to 35/27 watts using LEDs.
