Driving Down the road and Jeep shut off completely
So I was driving down the road the other day in my 96 jeep cherokee when all of a sudden i lost all power to the jeep. I pulled to the side of the road and attempted to start it and I can hear the fuel pump working and the starter going but the engine will not turn over. Any help?

Electrical problem somewhere. Did it sputter and die or just quit like you shut the engine off? This kind of rules either fuel pump or ignition...

Terminology confusing. You mention the engine will not "turn over". That means that the starter is not turning over the pistons.
Do you mean that, or do you mean that it turns over fine, but won't actually START?
If it turns over fine but doesn't start, the #1 suspect is the crankshaft position sensor. Without that input signal going to the computer, you won't have spark and you won't have fuel going TO the injectors. It is the #1 most common sensor failure on the 4.0 engine. They can be tested and that is recommended, but testing is not always accurate. If you buy one, buy it directly from Jeep. No lack of issues with some (not all) aftermarket crank sensors.
The coil can be tested for primary secondary/resistances with a meter and a manual.

Engine: 4.0L upgraded charging system & blue top, flowmaster 44, hi flow cat and two core rad.
My mom's '93 zj 4.0L coil died, when it did it shut off and would turn over but not start.

The starter turns the pistons the engine will not start. I have no spark at all but I did however change the rotor, distributor cap, ignition coil, plugs, and wires. everything has been changed out. The crank shaft sensor is a really pain to get out and cots about $100.00. I'm trying different options before I do that. I was told it could be the computer connections or the o2 sensors from the cat, but I dont see how these effect the ignition. If I could just get spark to my plugs I would be good.
