Default drive shaft question

ok guys i was driving and ALMOST made it home (i'd say 30 feet from home) and my driveshaft falls off, i need a new u-joint, but i was wondering what is that thing (looks like a rounded bracket) called that the u joint connects to? i looked at it and it was a bit bored out and i was thinking of replacing it if possible

The part in your t-case is the slip-yoke. Looks like it got damaged when your u-joint crapped out.

What t-case do you have?

From what I can see in the pic, the damaged part is the u-joint cap that is stil in the yoke. Once that is removed the yoke may be OK.
