Default Drag link play???

Hello. I have a 1997 xj 4.0. 4.5 inch rc lift. New moog trac bar and front sway bar bushings. My question is, whe you grab the bar that goes from wheel to wheel, the one the steering stabilizer bolts onto ( I think it's called the drag link?) should you be able to rotate it back and forth with a clanking a tech end????? I'm talking about grabbing it with both hands and "rotating" the bar, not sliding it back and forth (wheel to wheel direction). Are my tie rod ends shot?? Cause they look pretty ****ty!

As far as I know there should be some rotational play in the drag link, or at least that's how mine is too. (2001 XJ 4wd, stock steering with adj. trac bar, 165,xxx miles)

They are fairly cheap and it is easy to do but make sure you take it in to get aligned after messing with any of the steering components

Mine does it too with new draglink and tie rod ends. Buy all new if you feel like spending money but the new will do the same thing!

Might as well go ahead and do the V8 ZJ swap while you're replacing everything. It'll beef your steering up over stock quite a bit.

X2 the zj drag link is a solid metal tube opposed to a really long hollow adjusting sleeve like on the XJ. Mine has gotten bent to hell, the v8 zj one is going in on the next nice day
