My 1994 was broke down at the hospital (bad starter) went down to switch it out and the key wouldn't open the driver door. The lock mechanism on the inside has never worked (manual) and it won't open from the inside either. Any hints about what I can do to get inside there and fix it, can I even get inside the door panel with the door closed?

 

yes you can remove the panel. its a pita but can be done. contort you body so you can see the latch mechanism and have someone try opening the door. the is a little tab the you can use a long flat blade screwdriver to move while helper is pushing button and door should pop open. it may take a while but keep working at it. then get a new latch assy. (i still need to do that one)

 

mine does this all the time!!! its like it unlocks halfway and gets stuk on something, mine does it really bad in the winter, i have trimmed fenders and all the water flys into my door cracks and freezes then when im up in the morning i gotta spend an extra 15 munites fumbuling with the door and burning my key with my lighter to try and get it to melt the ice
